Importance of AU Pair on a summer camp
Having two daughters, there is a lot of "fairness" and "equal to" in our household. In preschool, my children always scored well on the concepts of "more than", "less than", and "equal to". Last summer my youngest incredible grasp of fair and my creativity for working with her sense of equal was put to a test. My oldest daughter had an opportunity to go on an amazing trip with her grandfather. It was a special bonding trip and my youngest was not old enough to do the things he had planned. I could not pass up the opportunity to let my oldest have this experience, but with two girls, the concept of "fair" came into play.
Like most mothers, I sought the advice of my trusted parenting consultants--aka friends with children just a bit older than mine. Fortunately, they came up with a solid plan for Camp Martin. As I was speaking to a host family and their au pair from Au Paire Care agency about their plans this summer, it occurred to me that every host family could do their own Camp (insert your au pair's name here) with their an au pair. Giving it a catchy title makes it more fun and putting it on the calendar in a bright, highlighted colour signifies that it is a special week.
Our camp consisted of including two good friends in the camp activities for a week. The group went on a day-long nature hike at their own pace with a picnic lunch which they carried in their backpacks. One rainy day, was a movie day. Then, they went to a nearby park that had paddle boats and they paddled around. One memorable event was going to a glass blowing studio and learning about how glass is made and shaped. Really, the ideas are endless and your au pair from Au Paire Care can be involved in making the plans that fit your child and your area.
With an au pair from Au Paire Care, you already have a camp counsellor at your service. Put Camp Au Pair on the calendar this summer and see how much fun the week can be. Don't forget to write it in jazzy colours and highlight the week so your Au pair will also love it. Also, try to involve your au pair so much as you can so that he/she also feels to be a part of that summer camp not just an unwanted company.
